Scenariul insa schioapata extrem de vizibil dincolo de jumatatea filmului, cu scene putin credibile si un final chior spre orb, atat de moralizator incat se sufoca sub greutatea ironiei sortii!
Spre deosebire de Eastwood ori Gibson, Forman isi pierde din inspiratie odata cu trecerea anilor. Probabil il urmareste pedeapsa americana Am avut senzatia, dupa ce l-am vazut si revazut de mai multe ori, ca Milos Forman este un regizor atins de geniu.
L-am vazut de doua ori. E un film bunicel, dar inspiratia pare sa fi fost zgarcita cu M. Forman de aceasta data. Ca fresca a acelei perioade, da, e un film care iti reimprospateaza memoria : crime infaptuite de Biserica catolica Inchizitia spaniola in numele lui Dumnezeu, crime infaptuite de francezul Napoleon in numele "libertatii, egalitatii si fraternitatii".
Foarte bun. Nu ma astepam. Dar a meritat fiecare secunda. Am incercat sa ignor avertizarile discrete dintre randurile recenziei foarte reusite facuta de Sabin.
Milos Forman inseamna "artilerie grea" in materie de filmografie, dar aici bataia proiectilului sau e scurta, deviata de un scenariul melodramatic si lacrimogen.
Pe masura ce filmul trece, asistam la o involutie a prezentei oricum diluate a lui Goya pana la punctul in care machiajul intentionat exagerat al lui Ines, ramane spre final singura legatura cu figurile de cosmar ale celebrului pictor.
Decoruri si costume la inaltime, o super distributie. Acest film nu trece neobservat, iar imaginile sale sumbre persista in memorie.
Dar asta nu ma va face indulgent fata de un Napoleon total nereusit, fata de dintii falsi lipiti cu superficialitate si superglue si total intolerant fata de siropul in care degenereaza un film promitator.

Cancel Resend Email. Goya's Ghosts Brother Lorenzo Casamares Javier Bardem defends him and later hires him to paint his portrait.
Lorenzo says that his works are not evil, but simply depict evil. She is summoned by the Inquisition and arrested on charges of "Judaizing" by refusing pork.
She is stripped naked and tortured by strappado put to The Question into a confession and then imprisoned. Lorenzo visits her in the dungeon, feigning to help her and pass a message to her family.
He offers to pray with her, but struggles with his desire for her. Left naked, she prays with him at his request.
He gives Lorenzo a large gold 'donation' for the Church in the hopes it may persuade the Holy Office to release her.
The document is an embarrassment to the Holy Office, and Lorenzo flees when they come to arrest him. His portrait is confiscated and publicly burned in effigy.
Fifteen years pass, and a now deaf Goya is at the height of his creativity. The French army invades Spain, abolishes the Inquisition and sets the prisoners free.
Lorenzo had fled to France, and is now a fanatical adherent of the French Revolution. He has become Napoleon's chief prosecutor against his Inquisition ex-colleagues.
This twist in Lorenzo's allegiance may have been inspired by Juan Antonio Llorente. A French show trial court convicts and sentences the Inquisitor-General to death.
She's had a daughter fathered by Lorenzo whom was taken away at birth. Lorenzo questions the condemned Inquisitor-General, who tells him that a child born in the dungeon would've been placed at an orphanage.
Lorenzo finds it and learns from the nuns that his daughter, Alicia, had run away several years prior. Lorenzo becomes worried and secretly visits Alicia at the park, offering to pay her passage to America if she leaves Spain.
